Our Story
Kulu Eco-Services has humble beginnings in Stellenbosch by seeking a solution to solve fat and grease build-up in sewers. We have since grown and developed our own conversion hub that recovers various sources of waste effluents and convert them to renewable energy or biofuels, through our international partnerships
and our sister company Kulu Bio-Fuels. We are passionate about turning waste into resources and promoting the circular economy. This is an effective way of solving the energy and waste challenges in South Africa and the rest of the world. A sustainable future will help create more jobs and have a positive social impact.
Waste Conversion Hubs
These hubs are a first for Africa and are decentralised technological plants that treat waste effluents on site, and treat water to acceptable water quality standards.
They are a solution to adhere to the current ban on organic and liquid waste to landfill (this is a provincial ban of 50% by 2022 and 100% by 2027)

We seek to provide viable alternative to landfill through the localised separation of waste, including plastics, organic materials and fats, oils and grease.
Waste to Energy
Each waste stream can be treated to be used for either energy (Bio-Gas) or fuel (Bio-Fuels) or food system agriculture/composting.
